This is where the Mariachi Galas were held every night where the memories of stars such as Lola Beltran,
Jorge Negrete, Pedro Infante, Jose Alfredo Jimenez were honored. Miguel Aceves Mejia made a special guest
appearance and was given the Ruben Fuentes award on Saturday night, the 15th of September.
This was going to be a special show for the mariachi participants in the Festival.
Mariachi De America with the Orchestra
The first half of the concert featured performances by Mariachi Vargas, Mariachi de America and Mariachi Los Camperos
each accompanied by the Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra. The music was reminiscent of the music that would be played
in movies during Mexico's Golden Age of Mariachi Music.
Mariachi Los Camperos de Nati Cano
Each mariachi performed without the accompanyment of the Orchestra during the second half of the concert.
Mariachi Vargas, Mariachi de America and Mariachi Los Camperos de Nati Cano
played music from their most recently released CDs.
Mariachi Vargas
The concert ended with all three groups playing the finale
and all mariachis playing the music they learned at the workshops.
The Grand Finale
Each participating group was awarded a certificate and a pin
for their participation in the Festival.
This was indeed a show to remember. It doesn't get any better than this.
